Shift in School Funding Communication

Dear Chargers,
We know school funding can feel confusing. Many changes have taken place at the state and local level over the past several years. That is why we created a clear, easy-to-read document to explain how these changes affect Edison Local Schools.
In this document, you will learn:

• Where school funding comes from in Ohio
• How the state and local share of funding has shifted over time
• How property value changes affect school revenue
• What new state laws may mean for our district
• How we carefully manage resources to support students

This information is meant to help our community better understand how school funding works. Our focus remains the same. We are committed to supporting student learning, maintaining safe schools, and preparing our students for success in school, work, and life.
We have also included our Winter Newsletter, which highlights many of the ways Edison students are learning, growing, and achieving each day. These stories reflect the impact of the continued support our schools receive from families and the community.
For more examples of what our students and staff are accomplishing, we encourage you to follow Edison Local Schools on Facebook, where we regularly share updates, classroom highlights, and Charger celebrations.

Edison Local Schools remains committed to transparent communication, responsible financial planning, and making sure every dollar invested by our community directly supports student opportunity.
Thank you for staying informed and engaged with our schools.
Sincerely,

Corey Ream
Superintendent
