Morning Announcements - Wednesday, March 18, 2026

The EMS cafeteria will be serving popcorn or General TSO chicken, or Daily Grab & Go brown rice, broccoli, fruit choice, a fortune cookie, and milk for lunch today.

The weather report for today is partly sunny with a high of 42.

Today’s trivia question is: How many chickens are there in the world?

Don’t forget about the Penny Wars for the 6th, 7th & 8th graders. It runs through March 18.

Pennies will be added to the total and count as 2 cents each. Nickels and dimes add to the total. Quarters and one dollar bills subtract. Remember the grade that has the largest amount collected will be rewarded to a make your own sundae event which is a bowl of ice cream with many different toppings.

As of last night, here are the results on the Penny Wars. In last place are the 7th grade class with a negative $18.93 balance. Second place is the 6th grade class with a negative $4.64. And that leaves the 8th grade class with a positive balance of $27.70 in first place. Who knows what will happen in the remaining few days.

On March 24, we are hosting a Red Cross Blood Drive from 3-7pm here in the gymnasium. Every student who gets a donor to sign up and donor will get a chance to win a $10 gift card. Get your relatives or neighbors to sign up. In order to make an appointment, just go to redcross.org Let’s pump it up, pump it up!

The trivia answer is that there are currently more than twenty billion chickens in the world.

Congratulations to the following Charger P.R.I.D.E. winners for this week.  These students should report to Mr. Smith’s office at this time:

5th Grade - Cambri Mielke and Jaz'Mir Green

We would also like to congratulate this week’s staff Charger P.R.I.D.E. winners - Mr. Campana and Ms. Consolo!  Thanks for all you do for us.

We would like to close with this quote from American poet Walt Whitman: “Some people are so much sunshine to the square inch.”
